Winter Olympics in Riroriro

Riroriro have been following the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics for the past two weeks. And what a great year to do so, with Zoi Sadowski-Synnott and Nico Porteous winning medals.

For our reading sessions, we have been learning how to research. We have each picked a Winter Olympics topic to research, and explain to others through a poster and presentation.

Riroriro Class on the New Senior Playground.

 We had our fitness session on the senior playground - so we had it all to ourselves! The Riroriro (Room 11) students play very well together. They are always sharing and caring, showing whanaugnatanga to each other in our Riroriro family.

Week Three in Room 11

Week three, and we are into our reading. One reading group performed a play they were reading called the 'Weird and Wonderful Olympics'.

Before school, the children love to play games together, which is lovely to see. We have a great Room three team developing.

Water Safety

All our Room 11 Swimmers can float and kick on their backs. This has been a challenge for some, but we have all achieved it now. This is a great water safety skill to have if you get out of your depth in a pool, the sea or a river.  Great perseverance  Room 11 students!

Meet our Awesome Class

 We are a creative and fun-loving group of Year 4 & 5 students, who are proud to be part of the Room 11 team. We are looking forward to using many digital and other tools to share our learning, and celebrate our different cultures this year.

 Wow, here we are, back at school for 2022.  It was a super hot day (25 degrees at 8am). We were lucky to be first class in the pool this year at 10.45am. What a treat! Everyone seems to be confident in the water, and can already perform many water safety skills.  What a great start to the year, for a great class!
